  • Engine Parts

Engines create the mean power and torque that push a car down the road or track. There are many types of engines ranging from stock engines placed in your daily drivers and there are crate engines that can be ordered to be placed in restorations and modified vehicles. Most engines run off regular gasoline, some run off diesel, ethanol, and a few off racing alcohol. A majority of cars driving down the road everyday have gasoline engines that run off regular unleaded gasoline. Trucks and some cars require diesel or ethanol. Cars that use alcohol are mainly for track/off-road use only.

Most gasoline engines aren’t made for power hungry engines, but more for getting from point A to B. Engines that run off higher octane gasoline, or racing alcohol, are high horsepower pushing engines due to the higher combustion that the gas provides.

No matter what type of engine your auto has, the motor must be maintained and serviced. Otherwise you can have engine trouble and a large repair bill.

Replacement engines have many options today. Plenty of options are available to fit any type of budget and can be added to the engine, including bolt on or in-depth replacements that allow for more power and torque. Engine options include everything from bolt on cold air intake systems, throttle body spacers, carberatours, cam shafts, bigger fuel injectors, turbo/superchargers, power chips, and so forth.

Engines can increase power or add a better look to your car. Take pride in your engine and make it fit your needs from power and torque to the look with either chrome parts or painting your engine to match your car.

  • Body Parts

If you own a car that is over six years old you are going to have problems with  body parts  eventually. Because of the wear and tear a car receives every day, they usually need replacement body parts sooner or later. Wheels can receive major damage if you drive through a pothole and they can cause damage to tires. Headlights can falter and even your bumper can receive damage from an auto accident and need to be replaced. If you need to replace any of these parts consider purchasing used body parts. Salvage body parts are less expensive than new parts and are easier to find for older vehicles.

  • Transmission

Transmissions are an essential component to any car by allowing for the power created by the engine to be transferred to the street. Transmissions are either manual or automatic. Manual transmissions are usually the choice for most muscle cars or racing cars. Nothing compares to the power of slamming gears in your hand and feeling the power in your control. Manual transmissions allow for more control of the car and for the car to be driven in your own style; shifting when you want the car a certain gear and where the shift points are either on the up shift or downshift. One plus side to manual transmissions compared to automatic transmissions is better gas mileage and a couple of miles per hour increase.

Automatic transmissions are more favorable in luxury cars, family cars, or cars that do not require hardcore driving. These types of transmissions are a little more in depth than that of the manual transmission. Automatics require a torque converter which allows the transmission to transfer the torque created by the engine to be used to change gears, either up or down, and then transferred to the drive shaft which puts the power to the ground.

Different types of vehicles require different types of transmissions depending on their use and purpose. Semi-trucks use manual transmissions since they are having to go through 16 gears and using gears in the high and low range. Most of your daily driver cars and trucks go with the traditional automatic transmission, but some do prefer having a manual transmission for personal reasons. Cars used for racing tend to have manual tansmissions due to shift points and certain other racing specifics. A few racing autos used automatic transmissions, but that requires a racing transmission, such as the turbo 400.

Transmissions are a very important piece to any vehicle and need to be maintained. Once you experience transmission problems, have it repaired in order to reduce further damage.

  • Suspension Parts

Ever been on a long car ride and you want to take a nap but it’s too bumpy and shaky? That’s because there is a problem with the cars suspension. When there is a problem with the suspension the car becomes unstable and it can be irritating to ride in the vehicle. Serious damage can happen to your car. Imagine walking down a bumpy road trying to hold three glass jars on top of each other in your hands. If you walk too fast or even barefoot you can risk dropping one. The contents in the jars will shake a lot as well. This is the same problem that occurs when you have problems with the rear shocks. The car will not ride well even on a smooth road. Suspension problems can cause harsher wear and tear on other car parts and create major repair charges. The steering and handling of the vehicle is also impacted, making it more difficult to control the auto while driving at high.

Springs, shocks, bolts, bars, and other parts can break and contribute to your suspension issues. Lack of lubrication can also be a contributing factor. Once you notice a problem with the auto suspension, take your car to the local mechanic, or repair it yourself.

Regardless of the nature of the repair, consider buying used car parts for your vehicle. Suspension parts such as rear shocks or struts can be found easily at the local Fort Worth salvage yard. Used parts are in solid condition and allow you to keep the repair bill down. Use the online car part search or call 817.563.2277 and talk to an auto part specialist.

  • Alternator

Everyone who owns a car knows the feeling; you get in, turn the key and get nothing. No start, no churn, nothing, and right after your frustration hits you hope it’s not your alternator. Why is that? Why are people so worried about the alternator? The reason is because when you go to start a car there can be plenty of problems that would prevent it from starting. You could be out of gas, have a wiring problem, a starter problem, dead battery and other issues. However, when it comes to alternators not working, most fear a serious problem because they are much more expensive and difficult to fix. This auto part has such an importance to your car because it handles the power that goes to the majority of your electronics and your cars ability to start. It replaces the used energy taken out of your battery to start the car or electronics, helping your battery to run longer.

A major component is the voltage regulator. It controls how everything works and if it fails, the entire alternator will not function. There are plenty of things that can go wrong inside these parts that can cause them to break or become damaged. This is due to wear and tear, over use, and even the weather. If something does go wrong you will hope it is an easy fix but if it is not it can be expensive to replace or repair. A great way to save some money on the repairs is to replace with used alternator parts. Search online at the local  salvage yard and find used car parts in good condition. Replacement parts cost less but still are in working condition.
